Q: Please introduce yourself. What are your responsibilities within your company Holzner Maschinenbau GmbH?

A: My name is Michael Holzner, I’m the founder and CEO of the Holzner Maschinenbau GmbH and Carbonice(.net). As we are a young company my focus is on stable growth, also a reason why we have a booth on Composites Europe exhibition, to find new partners to pursue our innovative business.

Q: What’s in your opinion a strong advantage of composites in comparison to conventional materials?

A: The really fine thing about composites besides its mechanical properties is, that prototypes can be realized more cost efficient than in other styles, but offers many possibilities that can’t be realized with metal plates for example. In addition e.g carbon composites look impressive if they are clear coated – an eye catcher – what is in many cases important as prototypes should persuade customers, or should demonstrate the innovative power of a company.

We asked Mr. Weber (on the picture) if Kegelmann Technik alsways worked in the field of composites.  He answered „Yes, we have worked in the field of composites technology for many years now. At the COMPOSITES EUROPE show we present the RTM-production technology in the prototyping phase.“

So how was their impression of our show? Kegelmann Technik is a new exhibitor this year! The answer is „Positiv. COMPOSITES EUROPE is a specialised exhibition. Here you can find the market place for the area of composites manufacturing.“

Come to the show and meet Kegelmann Technik in hall 4/booth E65!

The innovation prize for the young group of biomaterials will be awarded this year for the second time (Photo: Coperion). The experts of the AVK – Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe e.V. forecast an annual double-digit percentage growth rate for natural fibre reinforced plastics as well as for wood-plastic composites (WPC).  The reasons for this are the aspects of energy saving during production and the associated reduction in carbon dioxide.

The most important applications are the automobile, construction, furniture as well as industrial and consumer goods. Even so, the use of natural fibre reinforced plastics is stagnating in the automobile sector in the German market which currently accounts for 30,000 tons annually.
